The Early Bird Special <\/strong>– players who are physically present<\/em> by the official starting time of the first game are eligible for a bonus of 20% additional chips. For a starting stack of 15,000, the Early Bird would be 3,000 additional chips.<\/p>\n

The 20% extra bonus chips do not apply to re-buys and add-ons. Re-buys and add-ons yield the standard number of chips.<\/p>\n

The bonus chips count against your ability to re-buy. For example, in a 15,000 chip game an Early Bird player starts with 18,000 chips. He or she may not re-buy until below the nominal starting stack of 15,000 – not 18,000<\/em> – chips.<\/p>\n

Players who are not physically present at the designated starting time may still receive the Early Bird special, provided they pay a penalty of $1 for each minute they are late. For example, if the posted starting time is 7PM and a player arrives at 7:06, he or she may purchase an Early Bird bonus by paying an additional $6.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Early Bird Special does not apply to any subsequent games on the same night.<\/p>\n

In special cases, a player may be eligible for the Early Bird even when not present at the start of the game, provided he or she has previously appeared in person and provided a buy-in before the scheduled start time.
